i sit here sheepishly cowering like my dog oscar when he has done something naughty on the floor and i ask him, "did you do a bad potty?"...yes, he did. and i did a bad bloggy.
i have my reasons though.
first, i have a job. what?! i know, it has been eight months since i last held gainful employment. i am just thankful that my husband has a great career that allowed for me to stay home during our long and arduous relocation and then during the settling in to the kansas city pee-pee house (which now smells fabulous). i work at a local boutique/art gallery (for lack of better explanation). it is a dream. some may think it is just retail, but it is more than that to me. i get to look at, touch, WEAR, and the best part, explain to potential customers art by local, regional, national, and international artists all day. of course there are all the other responsibilities that go along with working a "retail" job, but i am just so thankful to have a job and one that i look forward to everyday. plus my coworkers and bosses are all so friendly and welcoming.
second, we had a friend staying with us for a month, while he was also in the process of relocating to kansas city. he has since moved out and now i am going to get the spare room all cleaned up and hopefully my MOTHER is going to come visit so we can have a scrappy-filled weekend.
third, i have been busy working on projects for submission. (keeping my fingers crossed)
and fourth, my sweet kitty is still incapacitated with a splint...we are on our LAST week, thank goodness, as he constantly demands attention, food, clean potty, clean bed, catnip, etc. he has taken to using his "club foot" as a weapon. he wacks the dogs in the head with it. whatever door he wants to go through, he bangs on it (LOUDLY) until i get sick of it and let him through. also keeping my fingers crossed that his toe has healed when he has his xrays retaken next tuesday.
i am excited to start a couple of art classes this month. one i mentioned last month is through red velvet art. i am also signed up for a journaling class with dina wakely and am thrilled to learn her techniques that i have admired for so long.
and because blogs are boring with out photos, here are some of oscar when he was a puppy that i magically converted to "polaroids" using the poladroid download (remember, free and easy. two of my favorite words).
learning to swim (which never really happened...pig-like dogs are not meant for water).
on dad's belly...still his favorite place to be...
locked up...still his most unfavorite place to be.
and finally, his "special" way of sitting. he still sits like this but it is not as cute. he really needs some pants.
happy friday.
