or at least the process of choosing the winner. when i first announced this giveaway, i said that betty would choose the winner by process of wet nose. well, turns out she was terrified of the bowl and the camera. so murray and oscar helped her out.
took a few tries, but murray was victorious. then they proceeded to pull out all the names (to them, everyone is a winner), chew 'em up a little, then drop the soggy little pieces all over my nice dining room rug. so sweet.

well, no. not really. it is currently snowing (again...still) in kansas city. but, i have updated the shop with lots of thrifty goodies! my favorite find? this awesome ingrid picnic ball.
i am also in love with this. this airline was a big part of my childhood. the brown planes were my favorite.
and these were an unusual find. even if the set isn't complete, i still love these little pineapples.

i made a little detour yesterday. and i came home with some really pretty and very fun new product. i haven't been scrapbook shopping in so long. i was refreshing to see some new designers...everything was starting to look the same.

this weekend i will be updating my etsy shop with some awesome finds that i have been saving for a snowy weekend. well, it's snowing, so i guess that is my cue!
so i stumbled across an amazing blog this morning that i must share with all of you. it is called the coffee shop and the blog author, rita, has design a plethora of free photoshop, photoshop elements, and lightroom actions, presets, storyboards, brushes, frames, tutorials, etc. free. did i mention free? and the tutorials? all in layman's terms. my new favorite website. so of course i have spent the morning downloading a handful of actions. what i am really excited about is that most everything she has created is compatible with pse. i was (and still am) wanting to upgrade to the full creative suite just because elements is limited in what can be adjusted. but in the meantime, i am able to accomplish (quickly, without adjusting layer upon layer) some pretty awesome effects!

this is just a sampling of what is available. some of the other actions i loaded do take more work and i will have to revisit those later (i have to go to work). everything above is adjustable to your taste as well, and can be layered on top of one another (as seen in the above photo). you must go take a look!

my new camera arrived this morning. a perfect distraction from fretting over oscar (who is home, but feels pretty lousy). here is the first photo. i love it when batman curls upside down.
i have lots to learn...but the first thing i noticed is how quiet it is. like one of those new washing machines. *sigh*
while i was waiting for the battery to charge, i found this awesome tutorial from design sponge and whipped out a quick camera strap cover. it was really easy and it isn't permanent, so i can change covers or just remove it whenever i like.
as i have said in the past, my sewing skills are less than stellar. i used two napkins from target that i actually had to stitch together so my fabric would be long enough. notice how the pattern doesn't line up? awesome.
well, i am off to continue laundry and go dote on the sweetest and most pathetic dog ever.

received an update from the clinic about oscar. he is finished with his dental procedure, but did have some trouble with his heart. i don't know much more than that at this point. i will bring home my sweet boy tonight. in the meantime, i am going to try to keep myself busy. like i said earlier today...complete mess.
eta: oops. you know when you are in the middle of something and then decide to finish later? well, that is what happened with today's my two. yesterday, i was looking for a photo of oscar to add, but then had to go to work and scheduled this post for this morning thinking i'd have plenty of time to finish, but then didn't finish.

today oscar is being sedated for a dental. while i do work in the veterinary industry, i am still a total mess when it is my own pet. so please think good puppy thoughts today for my sweet boy.
